About the event

Run across the Somerset Levels

Join us on the Somerset Levels in mid-spring, when the landscape is beginning to come alive after winter. Fresh green growth, spring flowers and blossoming hedgerows give the Levels a completely different character at this time of year.

The run follows flat, tarmacked roads with very limited traffic, offering a calm and enjoyable way to experience this unique landscape. With wide-open views across the Levels and the countryside changing with the season, it’s a lovely time of year to be out running.

Although we return to the same location for our Somerset Summer event later in the year, the spring run has a very different feel. Cooler conditions, fresh vegetation, spring flowers and the changing countryside make this a distinct event in its own right.

The routes are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for runners of all abilities. The consistently flat terrain gives you the opportunity to settle into a comfortable rhythm — whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply enjoying a relaxed run through the Somerset countryside.

The run takes place entirely on tarmacked roads.

This is a friendly, small-scale local event with a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere. Once you start, we’ll be cheering you all the way to the finish!

Everyone receives a medal and a recorded finish time, so bring a positive spirit and enjoy the day. It’s about having fun, not chasing Olympic gold.

Of course, you can push for your best time, but runners, walkers and Jeffers are all welcome. Come and enjoy the Somerset Levels in spring — and perhaps come back later in the year to see how different they look and feel in summer.
